Acoustic Flooring: Efficient Soundproofing Solutions
Controlling noise and vibrations is essential in modern construction to create comfortable and soundproofed living spaces. At SENOR, we provide specialised acoustic flooring solutions that effectively reduce both airborne and impact sound transmission.
Types of Acoustic Flooring
1. Concrete Raised Access Floors
Reinforced Concrete Raised Access Floors are designed to provide a high level of soundproofing in buildings that require strict noise control. Their main advantage lies in their high mass and rigidity, which significantly reduces the transmission of vibrations, as well as impact and airborne noise.
At SENOR, we offer various dampers for this type of flooring, recommended for solutions where a concrete mortar layer of more than 5 cm is applied:
- SE-TS-80: A rubber damper designed to withstand heavy loads and ensure effective vibration reduction.
- Dimensions: 8×8 cm wide base and 3 cm high.
- References and load ranges:
- SE-TS-80 V 150 (Load range 35-200 kg)
- SE-TS-80 A 280 (Load range 150-280 kg)
- SE-TS-80 R 400 (Load range 270-400 kg)

2. Lightweight Wooden Floors
Lightweight wooden floors are an ideal solution for projects that require a balance between acoustic performance and structural weight. Their composition helps reduce the load on the overall building structure, while still providing effective soundproofing against impact noise, vibrations, and airborne sound.
At SENOR, we offer a wide range of dampers for this type of flooring:
- SE-TSC: A rubber damper designed to optimise acoustic performance in wooden flooring.
- Dimensions: 3.3 cm wide at the mounting top, 5.9 cm wide at the bottom base, and 3.3 cm high.
- References and load ranges:
- SE-TSC-20 V (Load range 5-25 kg)
- SE-TSC-30 A (Load range 15-40 kg)
- SE-TSC-50 R (Load range 35-65 kg)

Common Errors in Acoustic Flooring Installation
- Omittig Acoustic Dampers: This results in the weight being transferred to the absorbent material, altering its density and reducing its soundproofing effectiveness. Furthermore, as absorbent materials do not mitigate vibrations, the overall soundproofing performance of the solution is compromised.
- Neglecting Quality Acoustic Strips: This leads to the perimeter of the floor coming into contact with the walls, creating an acoustic bridge and compromising the overall soundproofing integrity.
- Incorrect Installation Sequence: Acoustic flooring should always be installed as the final step. Installing wall linings and/or partitions on top compromises its effectiveness by overloading specific areas, potentially leading to a loss of soundproofing due to the components’s elasticity. Furthermore, this allows vibrations from the floor to be transmitted to the wall linings and/or partitions.
